Dr. B Debkumari brings with her more than 17 years of research experience in the field of Biosciences & Biodiversity. She is a Woman Scientist with Department of Science & Technology and Founder of the NGO focused on environment conservation ‘Midas Touch’.

Debkumari has done extensive research in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants and organic farming. Her vision is to develop a BioDiversity Integrated EcoTourism Plan (BIEP) of the unexplored regions of North East.

A Gold medalist in MSc Biosciences from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Debkumari received the Belgian Government Scholarship while doing her PhD. She got the opportunity to work in KU Leuven as a Specialization Researcher.

Born in the valley of Manipur, growing up amidst the bounty of Mother Nature, it is Dr. B. Debkumari’s essence to learn more about Mother Nature and conserve it in a way that it brings sustainable livelihood to the people besides reducing global warming! To say that she has a keen interest to learn more about nature and conserve it in a way that it facilitates sustainable development would be an understatement.
